Stafford Announces Planned Board Transition with Experienced New Appointments
Long-standing advisers Rosemary Jackson and Stephen Milburn-Pyle appointed to the Board of Stafford Capital Partners
London, 28 May 2025 – Stafford Capital Partners (“Stafford”), a leading international private markets investment and advisory firm, is pleased to announce the appointment of Rosemary Jackson and Stephen Milburn-Pyle to the board of Stafford’s Holding Company, Stafford Capital Partners Holdings Pty Ltd, effective from May 2025. These appointments follow Co-Founder Geoff Norman stepping off the board in March 2025. This marks the completion of Geoff’s phased withdrawal over several years from all boards and investment committees, following more than two decades of leadership at Stafford. He will however remain the firm’s largest shareholder.
Furthermore, Stafford’s General Counsel, Jim Marsh, has also taken up the position of Company Secretary to the Board.
Rosemary Jackson has been Stafford’s external legal counsel since 2006 and brings deep legal expertise, particularly in corporate law and investment funds, to the board. A qualified solicitor and former partner at Dentons, Rosemary has advised on numerous complex transactions, including the acquisitions made by Stafford of funds and teams from Macquarie in 2014 and Robeco in 2020, the acquisition and de-listing of Phaunos Timber Fund Ltd alongside many transactions beyond her work at Stafford. Rosemary is currently a partner at GunnerCooke LLP.
Stephen Milburn-Pyle was formerly General Manager of Superannuation at the Australian Postal Corporation and partnered with Stafford over 17 years as the firm’s foundation investor in its timberland business. Stephen is a seasoned adviser to superannuation and institutional investors, with over 30 years of experience in investment strategy, asset-liability management, and private markets. He currently serves as a senior adviser to Stafford.
