Stafford Capital Partners was pleased to see Jesse de Klerk, Private Equity Partner, participate in the PEI Impact Investor Global Summit held in London on 20 May 2025. The event brought together leading voices in impact investing to explore the evolving role of private capital in addressing global environmental challenges.

Jesse joined the decarbonisation stream to contribute to a panel focused on the shift from climate mitigation to adaptation. The discussion examined how investors are responding to the increasing urgency of climate change by identifying and backing innovative adaptation solutions, including asset-heavy ventures with potential for long-term resilience and scalability.

The panel explored a range of themes shaping the future of climate-focused investing, including the relevance of land transition, the economics of climbing down the cost curve, and the role of industrial policy and subsidies in enabling systemic change. Jesse’s insights reflected Stafford’s commitment to supporting investment strategies that deliver measurable impact while navigating complex environmental realities.

The Summit featured sessions on biodiversity, conservation, and the viability of turning impact ventures into mature companies, alongside reflections on the lessons from Northvolt’s demise and the ideological tensions within impact investing. It provided a platform for cross-sector dialogue and knowledge exchange among investors, policymakers, and innovators.
