Stafford Capital Partners Scores High on the 2023 UN Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) Assessment Report

The firm secured 5/5 stars on three out of four assessed modules – ‘Policy, Governance & Strategy’; ‘Indirect – Private Equity’; and ‘Indirect – Infrastructure’

London, 22 January 2024 –
Stafford Capital Partners (Stafford), a leading private markets and advisory group, has received high grades on the 2023 UN Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) Assessment Report – the largest global reporting project on responsible investment. The assessment of the 2023 PRI report is based on 2022 reporting.

Stafford, which has been a signatory of the PRI since 2010, secured 5/5 stars on three out of four assessed modules – ‘Policy, Governance & Strategy’; ‘Indirect – Private Equity’; and ‘Indirect – Infrastructure’, and 4/5 stars on the new 'Confidence Building Measures' module.

PRI signatories are required to report publicly on their responsible investment activities each year. In turn, they receive a number of outputs, including a public and private Transparency Report. The public Transparency Reports, which are produced using signatories’ reported information, provide accountability and support signatories to have internal discussions about their practices and to discuss these with their clients, beneficiaries, and other stakeholders.

Stafford is at the forefront of fostering meaningful dialogue within the asset management industry concerning ESG initiatives, especially with those at the start of their ESG journey, serving as compelling evidence of the firm’s dedication to driving positive change in the industry. Additionally, as a signatory of the Net Zero Asset Managers initiative, Stafford has defined a set of engagement targets for each business line, including to engage with managers of the top ten highest-emitting infrastructure assets on setting up decarbonization plans.

Marta Jankovic, Head of Sustainability at Stafford Capital Partners, commented: “At Stafford, we recognise our responsibility as an investor to contribute to a more sustainable financial system. We take a long-term responsible investment approach across our investment strategies and apply the principles of the PRI to everything that we do.

“Achieving high scores in the 2023 UN PRI assessment is a direct reflection of Stafford’s commitment to best practices, robust governance structures and continued improvement. As we accept this validation proudly, we remain steadfast in our commitment to advancing sustainability practices by pushing boundaries and setting higher standards for operations.

“We thank the UN PRI for providing a valuable benchmark and extend our appreciation to our employees, partners, and stakeholders who have been integral to this journey.”
