Bernd is a member of the Stafford Agriculture Investment Committee and is involved in the development of the business and the selection, negotiation, due diligence, portfolio management and relationship management functions through his role on the Investment Committee.
Prior to joining Stafford, Bernd was Founder and Managing Partner of EBG Capital, an advisory firm that provides high net worth families services to build, manage and grow investments in agriculture and advises International Organisations around responsible investments in agriculture. EBG Capital was a spin-out from Credit Suisse, where Bernd was the Global Co-Head of the Environmental Business Group and led implementation of the overall strategy in natural resource investments. Prior to joining Credit Suisse, Bernd was the Economic Affairs Officer with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in Nairobi, Kenya and in Geneva, Switzerland. He is currently a Vice Chair of the OECD Advisory Group on responsible business conduct in agriculture. Bernd holds a PhD in Agricultural and Resource Economics and an MSc in Agronomy from the University of Hohenheim.
